Trademark Usage Guidelines
Official Rules for Using APU Brand Assets and Trademarks
AccrediPro University — Private International Institution
Article 1: APU Trademarks and Protected Marks
1.1 The following are registered trademarks and proprietary intellectual property of AccrediPro University ("APU"):
- AccrediPro University® — Full institutional name
- APU® — Abbreviated name and acronym
- The APU Logo and Visual Identity — Including all logo variations, seals, and badges
- Certification Program Names — Including "Certified Functional Medicine Health Coach™," "Certified Holistic Nutrition Coach™," and all program-specific titles
- Credential Designations — Including CFMHC, CHNC, CWHS, CIWP, CMHC, and all certificate abbreviations
- Course Titles and Curriculum Content — All educational materials, lesson content, and proprietary methodologies
- Certificate Designs — All certificate templates, digital badges, and verification seals
1.2 These marks are protected under United States and international trademark law. Unauthorized use may result in legal action.
Article 2: Permitted Uses (Certified Graduates)
2.1 If you are a certified APU graduate in good standing, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to use APU trademarks as follows:
Authorized Uses:
- State that you are "Certified by AccrediPro University" or "APU Certified"
- Display your official APU digital certificate on your website, social media, and professional profiles
- Use your certification title and credential designation (e.g., "CFMHC")
- Include statements such as "Graduate of AccrediPro University" in professional biographies
- Link to the official APU website (accredipro.academy)
- Share your certification achievement on social media with appropriate attribution
2.2 Proper Attribution Examples:
- ✓"Jane Smith, Certified Functional Medicine Health Coach (APU)"
- ✓"John Doe, CFMHC — AccrediPro University"
- ✓"Certified by AccrediPro University | accredipro.academy"
- ✓"Sarah Johnson — APU Certified Holistic Nutrition Coach"
- ✓"Holding certification in Women's Health from AccrediPro University"
Article 3: Prohibited Uses
3.1 The following uses are strictly prohibited. Violations may result in credential revocation and legal action:
- Using "APU" or "AccrediPro University" in your business name
- Registering domain names containing APU trademarks
- Creating logos or visual assets that incorporate APU trademarks without authorization
- Implying partnership, sponsorship, or official affiliation beyond being a certified graduate
- Modifying, altering, distorting, or redesigning the APU logo
- Using APU trademarks in paid advertising without prior written approval
- Selling products or services using APU branding as if they were official APU offerings
- Creating social media handles that could be confused with official APU accounts
- Speaking on behalf of APU without authorization
3.2 Improper Use Examples:
- ✗"APU Wellness Center" — Using APU in business name
- ✗"accredipro-coach.com" — Trademark in domain name
- ✗"@APUJaneSmith" — Confusing social media handle
- ✗Using the APU logo on business cards without permission
- ✗"Official APU Partner" — Implying partnership without authorization
Article 4: Logo Usage Policy
4.1 The APU logo is a protected trademark and may only be used:
- By certified graduates displaying their official digital certificate
- With prior written permission from APU for specific, approved use cases
- In accordance with APU brand guidelines provided upon approval
4.2 If permission is granted:
- The logo must not be modified, stretched, recolored, or altered
- Minimum clear space must be maintained around the logo
- The logo must not be placed on busy backgrounds
- The logo must link to the official APU website when used digitally
- The logo must never appear larger than your own business branding

Article 5: Social Media Guidelines
5.1 When posting about your APU certification:
- Be honest and accurate about your certification
- Distinguish your personal opinions from official APU positions
- Do not create accounts that could be confused with official APU accounts
- Do not speak on behalf of APU without authorization
- Tag official APU accounts appropriately
5.2 Recommended hashtags:
Article 6: Third-Party and Media Use
6.1 Media outlets and third parties referencing APU must use the full name "AccrediPro University" on first reference, include appropriate trademark symbols, and contact APU for official assets.

Article 7: Enforcement and Consequences
7.1 APU actively monitors and protects its trademarks. Violations may result in:
- Formal cease and desist notice
- Immediate revocation of APU certification and credential rights
- Removal from the APU graduate directory and verification system
- Legal action for trademark infringement under the Lanham Act
- Claims for monetary damages up to $2,000,000 per willful infringement
- Recovery of attorney's fees and litigation costs
- Injunctive relief requiring immediate cessation of infringement
Warning: Trademark infringement is a serious legal matter. APU will vigorously defend its intellectual property rights.
Article 8: Reporting Trademark Violations
8.1 APU appreciates the assistance of our graduate community in protecting our shared brand. Report unauthorized use immediately.
8.2 When reporting, please include:
- Description of the unauthorized use
- URL, screenshots, or other evidence
- Name/contact of the infringing party (if known)
- Your contact information for follow-up
